Leak at Dustin Court 6/2-11/2023

Friday, 6/2/2023, a wet spot at the edge of the pavement at the end of Dustin Court was discovered. It is larger early in the morning, and shrinks during the day, presumably from evaporation. Thermal images show warm spot in the middle of the wet pavement. By Wednesday, 6/7/2023, there was noticeable water water bubbling up through dirt, just past the edge of the pavement. On Saturday, 6/10/2023 5 PM, water on the pavement had almost completely evaporated.

Sunday, 6/11/2023, the leak was repaired by Uriel Alvarez of Accurate Construction Services, LLC, of Santa Fe, with his son and a helper. After quite a bit of hand digging and then some backhoe excavation, they found the water line before either power cables or gas line. The leak was on the bottom of black 1″ poly tubing, aka SDR-7, presumably the service line to #383, 11 Dustin Court. Repair was made by cutting the tubing at the puncture and slipping on a 1″ brass straight grip joint coupling, leaving the damaged portion inside the coupling.
